The Trunk Lift is a component of the Fitnessgram testing. Strength and flexibilty of the trunk extensors are measured. The trunk lift test results are important because of the association with the lower back,vertebral alignment, and maintaining a healthy back.

Test Validity
NASPE or National Associtaion for Sports and Physical Education recommends that the trunk lift be administered as part of the FITNESSGRAM. The FITNESSGRAM was designed by the Cooper Institute and is reconized by NASPE as a valid test. The FITNESGRAM will assist in acccomplishing the primary objective of youth fitness programs, which is to help students establish physical activity as a part of their daily lives.
